Types of windows
Cross Windows
The most usual of all types of windows. It is composed of a mullion and a transom that forms a cross.
Fixed Window
It only allows the passage of light and minimal sound, unlike other windows that would enable more sound, air, and light to pass through.
Single and double-hung windows
Single-hung windows can be opened to allow air to pass through one of the windows. Double-Hung, on the other hand, allows air to pass through either the top, bottom, or both.
Fold-up
With almost the same design as that of a double-hung window, the fold-up windows fold upward instead of sliding the pane. With this mechanism, it allows more air to pass through the window.
Horizontal sliding window
Either single or double-sided, it allows the window to slide horizontally within the frame.
Awning
This type of encased window has hinges on top to allow the lower part to open at a certain angle to enable the passage of air.
Pivot
Instead of having the hinges at the top, the hinges are attached at the middle of the window. It then displaces the window horizontally from its vertical frame.
Jalousie Window
It is made of multiple parallel slats of glass that can be opened using a crank or a lever to allow air and light passage.
Clerestory window
This type of window is typically placed on top of high walls or in a roof structure. It lets natural lighting to enter inside a room.
Skylight window
These windows are placed into a roof structure and are engineered to let daylight and moonlight in.
